witcher au sequel update (for accountability): as i mentioned previously, i've been working on the sequel to cat's paw again.
my job has been hell since new year's, so i haven't really had lots of time to devote to this project, but a few hundred of words each day brought me to ✨ 20k words ✨
i'm rubbish at estimating fic lengths, but i should be roughly halfway through. i can't wait to bring this one home and share it, i am really enjoying writing it!

a/n: Like a phoenix, I have reemerged from the ashes of what was one my fanfiction writing career. I feel like I do this every time, I get super into writing for a couple of months, and then dip for what feels like years. So many things have happened! And I can't wait to catch up!
Please enjoy this purely fluff, purely sweet spring fic. (i'm not sure if I like it or not, any feedback is appreciated)

The sunlight shined through the pollen-dusted window in the late morning of the day. The pane was cracked at the bottom, an ambient rustling of the trees in the wind echoing into the bedroom. Her skin welcomed the warm rays that bled into the room and spilt across the bed she rested on. Her bent legs had tangled in the crisp sheets that comforted her the night before. In her hands rest a book with well-loved pages and spine. It was soft and pliable against her fingers. She hummed against the wind, mouth twitching upwards as she read over a favorite line.
“You look awfully lonesome,” Aaron’s voice cut over the soft music playing throughout the house. She eyed his smirk over the top of the book, a small smile of her own playing against her lips. “I can’t have you looking this tragic and tempting.”
“Get closer to me, then.” Her focus shifted back to the text in front of her, smile unwavering. She attempted to maintain that focus, even as she felt the mattress dip beside her, and even as he scooted her body forward just to slot himself behind her. She began to lose it, though, just as she felt his breath brush against the nape of her neck, and just as his fingers dusted across her arms to wrap themselves around her waist.
“How’s your book?” his chest rumbled as she spoke, lulling her like a siren away from her reading. She hummed as she reread the last sentence for the 5th time.
“It’s good, as always.” One of his hands released her to brush a strand of hair away from her cheek, where he rested his lips momentarily. His volumed lowered itself as he spoke into her ear.
“I was thinking I could pick up a copy and read with you.” She turned to face him at this. His eyes were light now that they were in the sun, similar to the warmth of whiskey, and they were focused on her lips immediately.
“You would want to do that?” She almost asked in disbelief, but only because she knew his free time was limited, and reserved for his favorite people. “Wouldn’t that take up your time on your off days?”
He rested his forehead against hers, smile unwavering. “Well yes,” he chuckled. “But it’d be time I’m taking with you, it’s your favorite book. Plus, Jack is about to go away with his grandparents for spring break anyways.”
Her smile grew, leaning up to peck his lips quickly. “Then I’d like that very much.”
He tightened his arms around her and rested his lips on the crook of her neck. “Good,”
He sighed out of fondness, not tiredness. “I’m sure there’s other things we can do together to take up time.”
Her hand dropped to her lap, an amused eye roll gracing her face. “I knew there were ulterior motives, you little snake,” she giggled as he pinched her side. “You’re an evil one, Aaron.”
“Hey!” He feigned offence. “There’s something wrong here if you think me wanting to love on you is evil.” He pressed another kiss to her skin, right behind her ear. “Besides, we can do both things together.”
She scoffed, as she picked up the book and attempted to read yet again. “I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I can multitask that well.”
He barked out a laugh underneath her. “I didn’t mean at the same time, sweetheart. Though, now you’ve given me an idea.” She laughed against him, nearly giving up on her task as his fingertips rested just under her breasts.
Aaron took a second to take in the sight before him. His love laying in the sun like this precious work of art only he ever got to lay his eyes on. He felt its familiarity, its effect causing a mirror image of his happier younger years.
“You’re going to corrupt me, you know,” she reached a hand up to rake her fingers through his hair, lightly scratching his scalp. Aaron smiled as he turned her around in his lap to face him. He placed a gentle hand on her cheek that she nuzzled into.
“You mean I haven’t already? I thought I was a snake.” He pulled her closed, their chests nearly touching.
She combed her fingers through his hand once more, before trailing her fingers to graze his lips. “Maybe just a little.”
He grinned at her and tugged her mouth to him. She kissed him slow, as if the moment would never end. She kissed him as if there was nothing else in the world to do. Her air filled his lungs, and he accepted it as if it would be his last breath. When they broke apart, their own little world remained undisturbed. Their forehead pressed together. “It seems I have some work to do, then.”
She scoffs once again, in love with the thought of him consuming her. “I think I can handle it.” She leaned forward as she wrapped her arm around his torso and rested her cheek just under his chin. His arms found their way back around her, just as his lips found their way to the top of her head. She hummed against him, the same sweet melody flooding through their home.
“You are quite distracting, you know.” He chuckled under her, fingers brushing along her back. Her lips found his chest and placed a soft kiss wherever she could reach. His hand flexed against her hip each time she did.
“Yeah, I know.” He sighed, pinching her side again and eliciting a giggle. “But you love it.”
The next weekend, the sun once again slithered its way into the room. Aaron’s new copy of the book sat unread on his bedside table, next to her loved copy and two cups of forgotten coffee.

A Bundle of Heliotropes - Chapter 1 - Marking
| Masterlist | Start: Here <3 | Next |
| Ao3 | Wattpad |
After two people have turned 16 they get a soulmark, a near-exact, or complementary, mark or as some referred to it as a tattoo. This can be anywhere on the person, sometimes they're simple, small, or inconspicuous on occasion. Other times they take up a great deal of space, elaborate pieces of work, their meaning so clear much clearer more often than not.
When Marinette Dupain-Cheng was younger she couldn't wait for her mark. She hadn't cared what it would look like because no matter what it would be beautiful, because this was her way to her one in the Universe.
When she fell in love with Adrien she was sure it was him but slowly felt as though she was wrong as she failed to confess or even have a normal conversation with the blond. Why would the Universe give her someone she couldn't even talk to?
This led to her officially letting him go and giving Luka a wholehearted try, that was until he got his soulmark. Akumas, being Ladybug, and Guardian duties had already been putting a strain on their relationship so Luka getting his mark was just the icing on the cake, and Marinette thought it would be better for them to break up and remain friends.
Marinette spent months of hopeful vs. hopeless, and as her birthday drew near a feeling of dread came upon her. The day came when she woke up with her collar area burning with her mark.
It was beautiful, just below the center of her collarbone a circle resting with elm branches coming from it going across to end at her shoulders. In the circle was a giant ladybug, along with robins sitting on the branches of her tree.
Looking in the mirror left her almost breathless, she brought her hand up to the mark almost scared to touch it. For fear if she touched it would fade the canvas of her skin forgetting what had been.
The only problem was it was far too telling. A ladybug? As if that wouldn't reveal her. She couldn't show this, not without someone realizing what the ladybug truly represented.
She could show Alya, she had told her identity at the beginning of the school year. She trusted her not to blab about it, especially when a few months ago Alya was going through the Ladyblog rewatching her videos and trying to see if any of them could be of help. Then she stumbled upon her interview with Lila to realize that she couldn't possibly be best friends with Ladybug when that was in fact her. She apologized to Marinette when she realized her mistake and how it took her this long even after Marinette had already told her and proved she was Ladybug.
“Marinette!” Tikki’s voice broke through her trance. The Kwami had been admiring her mark, while it wasn't the biggest or the flashiest. It was certainly something to admire. Big and flashy had never been Marinette’s forte, perhaps her soulmate and her had that in common?
“Sorry Tikki. I just,” Marinette glanced into the mirror again looking at the branches and its’ birds. “I can't believe it.” The teen said the last bit breathlessly.
“Guardian, as beautiful as your mark is,” Wayzz floated up. “You’re going to need to hide it. Someone could put it together, even with the quantum masking.”
“Wayzz is right,” Marinette turned to face Tikki as she spoke. “We can't count on the Miraculous magic to hide your identity when a mark so clearly refers to your heroine persona. While our magic is ancient that doesn’t mean it’s entirely dependable either.”
“You're right,” Marinette sighed. “I can show Alya at least. I'm sure she's gonna freak.”
Marinette wore a shirt that covered above her collarbone, unable to wear her usual white tees. She wore a light pink top so that if the shirt got wet the mark wouldn't be seen through the fabric. Marinette had already been making it a habit not to wear her usual whites anyway, with how many times Lila had caused “accidents” that ruined them. It wasn’t like she was dumb enough to keep wearing something that would be affected the worse.
Marinette already knew that Lila would try to say she must not have a soul mate if she wasn't willing to show her friends. Honestly, Marinette could care less about that, as Lila probably wouldn't share hers either when she got hers later this year. Not to mention there were others in the class and friends that had been getting their marks recently and not all of them wanted to share. Also, Marinette might be the younger between her and them, if her getting the mark on her birthday was anything to go by. Which it was.
Marinette made her way downstairs while tying her hair back, over the last few months while she still was late for things she had gotten better at waking up early. It made her friends excited, that's for sure. Marinette was proud, she may not get all the hours of sleep needed for a person her age but at least she started her day earlier.
She grabbed an apple and made her way down the stairs. She didn't want to risk Lila trying to claim she had done something when she was least likely to have. So she made her way as quickly as she possibly could, despite her having more time to get to school; it helped to get there as soon as she could around a certain time. As the more people around to see her the less likely Lila could make her claims.
Marinette passed through the bakery giving her maman and papa hugs and kisses before snatching up croissants into a bag to share with some of her friends. Mainly Alya, Nino, and Adrien of course every morning hung out with her. Many of her other friends would sometimes join them, sometimes they were in a rush or just forgot to grab something to eat.
Everyone mostly “played nice” as Adrien tried to keep it. While Adrien seemed to play peacekeeper along with Alya they both had very different reasons. Adrien being so Lila wouldn't say anything to his Father and risk his freedom, and while they understood that it still hurt when Adrien sometimes took more of Lila’s side in the conversation, even if it was for the sake of “keeping the peace.” Over the months Chloé, Kagami, and Marinette had been able to convince Gabriel to be more free with his son, even Natalie had surprisingly shown support. But Adrien still turned the arguments in Lila’s favor a good chunk of the time.
Alya on the other hand had been slowly sliding more to Marinette, so as to not cause Lila into a fuss. Alya hated it, that much was clear, but it seemed as though Lila didn't notice as long as the Créole teen was spitting articles of her amazing life. Alya had made a separate blog to “support her friend” but what Lila hadn't noticed was that the writer’s name wasn't Alya but a pen name. But it had come to light for Lila that Alya still cared about Marinette and wasn't entirely leaving her. Alya gave excuses, true and false, but we're good enough for the Italian. But Lila taking notice had only been a recent thing.
“Marinette!” Alya shouted as Marinette made her way into the courtyard. Some people turned to see the dark-haired teen make her way to her friend, some of those students happened to be Max and Rose. Score, Marinette couldn’t help but think as it meant if Lila tried to say something they would most likely doubt her, especially if she was with Alya.
“Hey Alya,” Marinette smiled before hugging her best friend. As she pulled away she wasn’t even halfway out before Alya was practically buzzing.
“So?” Alya stretched the word out while bouncing in place. “Did you get your mark? Or is it not there? And if there isn’t one then that’s okay girl! Remember your soulmate could be younger than you and hasn’t turned sixteen yet. And even if you don’t get a mark I won’t think any less of you, it just means that you're free to choose your own destiny and-” and before Alya could continue rambling, something that she had picked up from the Asian girl, that Marinette cut her off.
“Alya! I got my mark,” Marinette laughed before finally letting go of the other girl’s hands. Alya’s face slowly went from blank to pure glee. She grabbed Marinette’s shoulders and shook her, “You. Me. Bathroom. Now!”
Alya dragged her to the bathroom, while others would be upset at the other’s demanding antics Marinette just laughed. Alya pushed the bathroom door open and surveyed the room, “Which stall is empty?”
Some girls gave her weird looks, but those who were friends or knew the girls personally giggled or simply smiled. One of them pointed to the one at the end. Alya declared “perfect” and brought Marinette in with her. Some of the girls said happy birthdays to Marinette while giggling as Alya dragged her into the stall. As Alya shut the stall door it could be heard some girls going “Oh” as they realized why the two went into the stall.
“Show me now girl!” Alya cried, the stall at the end wasn’t as small as the others but it certainly wasn’t one as big as the one closer to the door. Alya had mentioned that her mark might hint at her heroing, as a theory. It wasn’t uncommon for soul marks to represent someone’s work or passions, so it was safe to assume that Marinette’s could reference Ladybug.
Marinette pulled her arms out of her shirt before taking it off, her tank top left a perfect view of the mark. Aside from the straps, it’s not like it really mattered. Alya let out what had to be the loudest squeal Marinette had heard come out of her, and she had let Alya try many Miraculi on just for the fun of it. That sleepover had been the loudest squeals and laughter that came out of Alya to date. Till today that is.
“Are those tree branches? And robins?”
“Yes, and yes,” Marinette said before bringing her shirt back on. “Elms if I’m not wrong. But I studied plants for that one nature-forest-themed fashion competition.”
Alya finally opened the stall back up when Marinette had her shirt situated, and with Wayzz and Tikki away. Alya just seemed to be radiating from excitement. If Alya was the type to jump up and down when excited that would be exactly what she would be doing now. Though Marinette had a feeling it had to do with how nervous Alya was for Nino’s birthday.
Nino’s Birthday was just four days away, Alya’s was last month. She didn't get a mark so she held out hope that Nino would be her soulmate, while being soulmates didn't necessarily mean it was romantic you couldn't blame the girl. As for all they knew, Nino or Alya may have a romantic bond with someone else. With how close they were and how much they loved each other it made sense to be scared of such possibilities.
Marinette was honestly scared hers wouldn't be romantic, not that there was anything wrong with a platonic bond. But for Marinette, it just meant finding someone to have her big house with three kids and a hamster would be much harder.
Marinette subconsciously touched where her mark lay, What if they don't like that I'm the one they're soul bound to?
“Marinette!”
The said girl looked up to see Adrien, Nino, and Kim waiting for her. A smile came on her face as she saw them. Kim waved at her overdramatically before raising a sign that read “Happy Birthday To The Bread Child.”
Alya and Marinette laughed at the sign, it had been a joke between mainly Kim and Marinette that she was “The Bread Child”. When they were in early collège their class had done a project about names and their heritages. From then on Kim liked to joke about her father’s last name.
Her other friends had slowly made their ways into the joke calling her bread-related nicknames. Adrien and Nino were the worst, as they were puns. It honestly made Marinette think their favorite hero was Chat Noir rather than Ladybug.
“Happy Birthday!” Nino and Kim shouted at their long-time friend.
“Happy Birthday Marinette,” Adrien smiled at her. The girl's insides swirled around a little at his smile, it was charming, one of his real ones even. Despite letting go of her crush on him he still made her flustered from time to time.
“Thanks you guys,” she felt a bit embarrassed but she couldn't care. Her friends always made her feel like that on important occasions, but she enjoyed it nonetheless.
“I'm assuming by Alya’s face and that she was practically skipping her way over here that you got your mark?” Kim raised his eyebrows at his short friend. Though most people at Françoise Dupont were shorter than Kim.
“Yes,” her cheeks flushed as she admitted it.
“That's amazing dudette,” Nino said in his usual fashion.
“Can you show us?” Kim looked between the two girls.
Marinette swallowed before opening her mouth to speak, “I don't want to lie to you but I want to keep it myself. I would love to show it but for now, I would like to keep it to myself.”
Marinette looked everywhere but her friends while she said this. They were gonna think she was selfish, or that she hates them when she doesn't! But because they think she hates them they’ll start hating her, and they’ll all leave her. She’ll have no friends because they’ll tell everyone and then she won't ever make friends for the rest of lycèe. Since no one likes her she’ll never get to be a famous and successful designer, and when she finally finds her soulmate they’ll think she’s horrible and hate her because she has no friends and that she's a failure. And then she’ll be alone for the rest of her life. She’ll never get her big house for her hamster and three kids, and-
“Marinette!” Her friend's voices snapped her out of her panicked state.
“S-sorry!” Marinette cried.
“Marinette, it's okay,” Nino said.
“We understand and we won't push you to show us,” Kim pulled Marinette in for a side hug. “We would never hate you for being private.”
“Exactly!” Adrien said with a reassuring smile. “It's your decision. Also soulmarks are very personal things, it only makes sense if someone decided not to share theirs.”
“It’s in your full right to decide who you want to share your mark with,” Alix said from behind Marinette. Marinette would have jumped if Kim hadn't been hugging her right then. “Honestly I don't think I will share mine with anyone when I turn sixteen next year.” Alix admitted before continuing in a joking tone, “Unless it’s something sick like a dragon or snakes. Then I would show that sucker off for all it’s worth!”
Everyone laughed at Alix’s statement before heading to their classroom.

When Damian Wayne first didn't get his mark he thought maybe he didn't have one, and he was fine with that. Even pleased one could say. As it would be one less person to care about, to protect, or to be used as a weakness.
His family reassured him that his soulmate probably just hadn't turned sixteen yet. Truly that didn't, as the League had certain beliefs around the topic. All Damian saw was that it was the Universe giving him that one person that anyone could use against him.
Lo and behold they would be right; just a few months later would he wake to his shoulder blades burning as a mark finally made itself upon his body.
Damian looked at his back with the mirror in his bathroom. It was…magnificent. It was the only word that could come to mind that held everything he felt about it, the young Wayne couldn't help but look at it.
A circle between his shoulder blades with tree branches that went across his shoulder blades and stopped just as it went to wrap around, clearly cherry blossoms were the branches that came out, ladybugs in flight or resting in the branches. While it made no sense it was still a beautiful sight. In the circle was a robin, its back to the viewer and its head turned up so you could see its face, as best you could with how the view of the mark portrayed it.
Damian swallowed, his body showcasing the form of nervousness without his consent. He couldn't help it though, looking at made his chest tight and his fingers flinching, desperately wanting to touch the mark. His arm made its way up and his hand came down-
He clenched his jaw as he turned his hand into a fist and brought it away. He huffed leaving the bathroom, and his face became a scowl. As he got dressed two parts of him berated him. He took a moment to calm himself, it’s just a mark. But it wasn't like a regular tattoo, it couldn't come off.
It was one of the reasons you, internationally, couldn't get a tattoo until you were eighteen, because you were one: a minor. And second, you didn't get your mark until you were around the age of sixteen to nineteen. At least that was the average range of the current day, there were some larger age differences here and there, but it wasn't as common now. Guess the Universe seemed to catch on to how humans had been viewing age differences in recent times.
Damian didn’t understand why the Universe had decided that soulmates would be part of the staple of its rules. An absolute that had become the conclusion long ago that no matter what you were bound to meet your soulmate, in one life or another. At least that was according to magic users and what the League had from hunting down certain magic users.
So under no circumstances could his family find out about this mark. He may have come a long way from who he was when he was ten years old but even still he did not wish to entrust them with everything. While they were family, his most trusted, and partners, he couldn't stand them over insignificant things. This mark did follow under the file: “Keep Out Of Knowledge For Long As Possible.” or as he formally called it “My Business.”
It was his business, and as it was his business it meant his brothers would poke and pry their way into said business. Damian stifled a groan as he made his way down the hall. Damian could only hope his brothers would stick to their recent “level 1: giving space” tactic, but that would only last for so long. He might as well enjoy the peace that came with it.
“Damian we're going skating after school!” Grayson exclaimed upon the young Wayne entering the dining room.
As much peace that would come with the level 1 space.

Summary: Kryptonian biology means Clark Kent, 28, unexpectedly presents as something called an omega - a secondary gender, something humans don’t posses and Clark had no idea was even a thing. The fact that all this is only happening because his body decided Bruce Wayne, Clark’s longtime crush, was the ideal mate was just the cherry on top on the sundae of bizarre, life-changing surprises that was his life.

Wtf did you put on my timeline 😀
Since the history of Y/N stories, the reader ALWAYS had a backstory. I fail to see how this suddenly makes Y/N a OC. The same goes for gender. Usually in the description or first sentence you would immediately know Y/N’s gender. It’s nice to be inclusive but you can’t force the author to cater to a specific demographic.
I will admit though: I LOATHE when a author enforces a skintone onto Y/N without mentioning it in the beginning. The fact this stuff is rarely tag is pretty annoying. If authors have to tag their fanfic with POC!Reader” to point out that reader is meant to have a ethnic background, for the love of god please do the same if the reader is meant to be interpreted as white. Nothing puts me out of a story when I envisioned a character to fit the story only to see them described as “pale, fair skinned” by the narrator several paragraphs later.
There is a really nice plugin for AO3 where it can replace pronouns and fill in the Y/N slot with an actual name. It would be nice if such a plugin existed for tumblr. Authors won’t have to give into obligations and those who feel alienated can still enjoy the work.
PLEASEEEEEE AJFHASIUDFHU IF I HAD TO SEE IT YOU GUYS ALL HAVE TO TOO. i am a firm believer of sharing is caring <3
EXACTLY, like especially for authors who do long fics or series, giving reader 0 personality/no background story is next to impossible unless you just want them to like ... be there and take no initiative in the story and just have things happen to them and for them to have no reaction to anything. like even in smut and headcanons, there are going to be little things you can pick out personality-wise, its next to impossible to just have a cardboard cut out reader for any type of fic, much less long fics/series. someone will always disagree with something <- but tee explained this all better in her long rb addition to that post
AND I TOTALLY AGREE! like they had very valid points about physical appearance and properly tagging gender, but i hate the fact that they added all of those valid points in that mess of an argument of why "x reader fics" should have no personality or background, because i felt as if it was totally taking away from that. it's two totally separate issues that they were trying to combine into one big one but just made an even bigger mess out of it.
for real! ao3's tagging system is top tier like i know a lot of people find it confusing but it's so nice to be able to filter any and everything you want or don't want.

I'm pouring my blood, sweat, and tears into the plot of this story I'm writing—conceiving of drug fueled, Shakespearean-level drama, backstabs, and plot twists, weaving in intricate symbolism and drawing literary influence from every work of literature, prose, or philosophy I've ever been even remotely touched or moved by:
In short, I'm basically writing my magnum opus, and I'm blowing my entire literary load on a work of Rick/Morty fanfiction.
Yes, woe is me, but in this household, we die dicks out and guns blazing—no regrets.
I will overwrite the hell out of this work of transformative fiction until the bones in my tapping-finger grind to ash.
I truly believe in the transformative and socially transgressive power that is intrinsic to the act of shitting on intellectual property and pumping media out into the ether for free.
And yes, I write fanfiction on my cellphone.
I'm gay and I shit and piss myself; explain that, atheists.

btw i am absolutely gonna be retconning the whole yumi love triangle thing in heliotropism. its unclear if kiryu loves her that way or if what happened in kiwami was just circumstantial/his feelings were influenced by outside factors.... there's gonna be a lot of kiryu sexuality exploration and complication (which is gonna be fun cause the point of the fic is analyzing kiryu from two OUTSIDE perspectives so we get to infer based only on what he says and what nishiki/majima think of him). but either way nishiki absolutely does not love her that way. the shit they pulled w that remains the dumbest decision this series ever made and i refuse to acknowledge it as correct in any way.

Witcher fic update (check here for the previous ones): I am working on the last three chapters. I waffled a lot and changed my mind several times regarding the precise direction the fic was to take, but I think I nailed down a resolution that makes sense and feels fun to write, a combination that is surprisingly hard to get. The finished fic is going to sit somewhere between 70 and 80k words.
Also: heliotrope is not going to be the final title, but I'm going to keep it as a working title for the moment because of all the posts I've made with that tag in the last 2 years.

Thoughts on Scents
Tumblr media
So I wanted to just give my thoughts on some interesting scent options, because no hate to sandalwood, it seems like everyone always smells like it in fics. And since I also have an indie perfume obsession, I wanted to share some scents that may broaden people's horizons. I may do a part two depending on how well I like how this turned out.
Pine resin, with hints of wood smoke, and warm brandy.
The smell of damp fresh earth after a summer rain.
Palo santo, dry desert grasses, and sage
Amber, laudanum, and frankincense
Tobacco, burnt grasses, with hints of citrus
Pine needles, forest floor, and stone
Saltwater, ambergris, fresh rain, beach sand
Stone, oakmoss, clay, and wet concrete
Animal fur musk, mulled wine, and a cold winter breeze
Freshly washed linen, lemon cakes, and black tea
Coconut, dark rum, and sugarcane
Leather bound books, a dying fire, and cedar
A crisp fall evening, apple orchards, and toasted marshmallows
Magnolias, Spanish moss, and honeysuckle
Sun warmed earth, tomato plants, and iced tea
Cactus flowers, sweet grass, and wood dry vanilla
Lemon grass, heliotrope, and sugar cookies
Dead leaves, dry hay, and cognac
And that's no even touching on all the different kinds of plants, flowers, and foods. I could go on for a very long time.

A Bundle of Heliotropes - Chapter 3 - Lull
| Masterlist | Previous | You’re Here <3 | Next |
| Ao3 | Wattpad |
When Marinette woke up her room was quiet. It was quiet?
Marinette sat up in alarm and scrabbled to get out of bed, “Tikki?”
No response. Her panic started to grow, “Tikki.”
“Guardian, do not panic,” Sass floated to her, making the girl slip and hit her head on the ladder. Sass winced while Marinette rubbed her head, hanging upside down on the ladder. Sass floated down to her face, “The ressst of the Kwami are down stairss with your parents.”
Marinette blinked as she took in the words she noticeably relaxed before pulling herself up to get on the ground. She rubbed the back of her head with a small frown, she felt almost as embarrassed as she was irritated with the injury.
Marinette looked to the snake kwami with mild confusion, “Why are they down there?”
“I don’t know everything, I do know Tikki sssaid that she would talk to them in the morning if they would like,” Sass explained, “eventually otherss joined her asss they got bored up here. None of usss wished to wake you, but there wasn’t much to do that would keep usss quiet. Ssso we joined Tikki, and I stayed ssso that you would be lessss likely to panic.”
Marinette nodded, “Thank you Sass, I appreciate it a lot.”
“Of courssse Guardian,” Sass bowed his head.
“You can join everyone else if you’d like,” Marinette said smiling at the snake. Sass nodded before phasing through her floor to downstairs. Now that Marinette was more awake when she strained her ears to listen she could barely hear the sound of voices from downstairs.
Marinette yawned despite herself and stretched. She pulled on a sweater before having another stretch and rubbed her face. Marinette came down to see the island covered in foods prepared, all things the Kwami enjoyed or favored. Usually the Kwami would be rambunctious when they didn’t have to be careful, but all the Kwami were relaxing, eating, or talking to her parents.
Marinette blinked as she took in the scene before her.
Tikki, Sass, and Longg sat on the coffee table munching on their respective snacks while Trixx and Pollen sat on Sabine’s head; they were listening just as intently to the conversation as some of the other Kwami. Mullo sat in the mother’s hand. Stompp, Daizzi, Barkk, Ziggy, and Orikko all rested contently at various levels of her father.
Lastly Xuppu, Kalkki, and Roarr sat on the island, Xuppu playing around the food but careful to not make a mess. Kalkki made an annoyed but amused neigh as she munched on a sugar cube.
Marinette looked around the room searching for Fluff, she found the time bunny on the shelf observing the scene. A small smile on their face as they munched on carrots, her piercing eyes flicked to Marinette.
Marinette was used to the Kwami after all the months of the group residing in her home, especially with spending most of her time with them. Fluff was chaotic in nature, but time also held order in her delicate chaos.
“Good Morning Fluff,” Marinette smiled and nodded.
“Is it morning? May it be noon? Or tea time? Why is it not dawn,” Fluff sprouted out what would seem incoherent. It was best not to overthink her maze of words.
Marinette’s smile softened, “Sun high, clear sky.”
Fluff beamed at the response and floated over to the Guardian, she nuzzled and rubbed the top of her head on Marinette’s forehead. Marinette giggled the bunny’s fur and whiskers tickled her with affection.
“Good morning sweetie.” Tom and Sabine said in unison.
Marinette looked over to see her parents now facing her. Her father radiated pride and his eyes were glassy, it made Marinette swallow. Her father always wore his heart on his sleeve but very rarely did she see him cry. Seeing her father look at her like this made her heart tight and want to fall on the floor and let it all wash over her, but of course, she didn’t do that.
She looked over to her mother, a woman who always kept cool but was a gamut of raging and unfiltered emotions. A woman who felt everything so wholly under the surface. A small understanding smile was set and Sabine’s eyes crinkled as she took in her daughter.
A strong and confident young woman, her heart ached looking at her now. Her heart had hurt before looking at her, but that was when she was worrying, scared of what would happen to her baby. Now she knew it was far worse than she’d allowed herself to even entertain.
“Good morning,” Marinette smiled back feeling nervous as she looked at Tikki. Her Kwami hadn’t said anything about speaking to her parents. While she believes there was a reason, Marinette feels like she should’ve been there.
Many Kwami sprouted shouts of Guardian and Marinette excitedly, some even coming to her and flying around her talking in rapid succession. The bakers laughed at the magic beings.
Sabine motioned for Marinette to join them. Marinette couldn’t help that her insides swirled as they usually did, although this time was certainly different in multiple aspects.
“Marinette,” Sabine started making said girl straighten up, “we have been speaking to Tikki to better understand what we can and where she can speak of.” Sabine nodded to the Kwami as she floated happily to Marinette.
“While we don’t like it we understand the need to keep secrets surrounding all of this, and that you even telling us is breaking the rules. We,” Sabine stopped for a moment to clear her throat; she took one of her daughter’s hands, “appreciate you for telling us. Even if it’s rather unconventional.”
Sabine chuckled while Tom brought his daughter into a comforting side hug.
“But we do think we need to figure out our own system or set of rules,” Tom spoke up.
Marinette looked at her father taking in their words carefully, she nodded.
“I understand and I agree,” she said thoughtfully, her brows down as her mind went miles a minute thinking over possible ways they could go about this. Marinette soon grabbed out a piece of paper to help sort her thoughts out.
The family and minigods spent the morning discussing her leaving classes, the bakery, her friends, and more. She had permission to say her parents needed for an emergency, or to just straight up leave the class no questions asked.
As they spoke the more they relaxed, joked and simply enjoyed their time together. Marinette was far more relaxed than she had in years.
“It’s not like they can just chase me,” Marinette joked to her parents as a knock sounded on their door. Marinette gasped and leaped across the room as Kwamis hid, “Nino’s birthday.”
Marinette looked back and didn’t see a single Kwami, her parents gave small reassuring smiles. A rapid knock sounded followed by an impatient voice. Marinette finally opened the door revealing Alya and Nino, their eyes were red and puff but they held the biggest smiles on their faces.
The dread that had been previously there faded away, Marinette looked between the two, “Did-”
She was cut off by Alya yanking hers and Nino’s intertwined hands in her face, “Yes.”
Green turtles with black lotus flowers resting on top of the shells sat between their thumb and pointer fingers. Marinette noticed Alya’s turtle was darker in shade but aside from that they were just mirrors of the others.
Marinette pulled them into a tight hug telling them how happy she was for them.

“Here dear, eat something,” Ma Kent said sliding a slice of pie to Damian.
“Thank you Ma Kent,” Damian nodded taking the fork from the older woman.
“Of course, dear,” Ma said with a sweet smile. She turned to cut a slice for herself, “I remember when I got my mark.”
Damian took a breath; of course, Jon had mentioned it to his family. Well, his father must have talked to Clark of course, and Tim to Kon. Damian hadn’t gone out of his way to find out if Tim had told Kon, but Damian did not doubt his reasoning for it was sound.
Ma continued to recount fondly how her sister had teased her and her friends had thrown a party, and when she had met her dear Jonathan.
Damian could not hold malice toward the woman, she only knew so much, but she knew enough. He was sure Ma was just trying to ease any “nerves” or “fears” he had about meeting his soulmate.
And he was not “nervous” or “scared.” That is simply prosperous. He had concerns about meeting them.
What if they were a civilian?
A beat.
What if they weren’t a civilian?
Damian paused for half a second, but that was enough.
“Damian?” Jon who had been doing chores around the farm was now next to him.
Damian blinked. What was worse, he hadn’t actually thought about it. He hadn’t wanted to think about any of it. He never let himself entertain anything related to soulmates, his soulmate. He should have, he should have been planning.
“Dear,” Ma Kent spoke softly in a question.
Damian stared at his half-eaten pie, his brows barely drawn together.
The young vigilante cleared his throat, “I am fine. Just had a thought.”
Ma Kent smiled and gently rested a hand on the boy’s, “It won’t be easy will it?”
Damian looked up to her, sometimes he forgot how similar the woman was to Alfred at times. All observing and knowing.
Ma gave a light squeeze, “I’m sure they’ll be just fine.” Her eyes flickered between Damian and Jon, “Clark was worried too when he got his, no matter what we said.” She fondly shook her head recounting the days of her son.
“Whoever it is, they’ll fit right in,” she stated as a matter of fact.
Damian ever so barely pursed his lips as he looked away for a moment, when he looked back at the woman and nodded with gratitude, “Thank you Ma Kent.”

Robin’s cape flittered behind him in the slight breeze, the smog-filled sky hiding the moon from the beautiful chaos of the city. His family was spread across the city, Robin was awaiting instructions from Oracle for the area he had already run through twice that night. A few muggings around, so simple for him to handle.
For as much as he would like to rest after being up for so long he wasn’t ready to go yet, but he would be called home for the night soon.
The sound of heels made him turn around, not even five meters away from him stood Talia al Ghul.
“Darling you need to be more aware of your surroundings,” Talia chastised with an unsatisfied smile. She looked to her son’s hand where it lay on his katana. Talia straightened in realization, she held a small frown and her eyes softened, “Oh Dami. I promise I’m not here to fight.”
The mask did not hide how Robin looked her over before slowly removing his hand from his weapon. He straightened and raised his chin as he looked at his mother.
“What is it you want,” Robin stayed put, not wanting to let his guard down.
“My blessing,” Talia took a small step forward. “Not that you need it of course, and Nyssa would not approve,” she waved her hand as though to dismiss her sister from the conversation, her disdain bleeding into the words.
Damian looked his mother over again, trying to find the deceit or hidden agenda. There was none to be found.
“Blessing for what exactly Mother,” Damian asked, adding the title hesitantly. He knew what she meant, but he wanted to hear her say it.
Talia smiled amused, “Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten.” She knew he hadn’t, but she knew what he wanted. What she had wanted so long ago. “Blessing to let them live.”
She could see him relax, her smile became fond as she looked at her son-
An “oof” came out of Talia, a sound she never made, as her son’s arms hugged her. She reached her arms up holding her precious son close. When he pulled away she held his face, a near pout on her face as she looked up at him,
“When did you get so tall dear?”
Not that his mother could see it, he looked away.
“Robin, there looks to be a kidnapping in process a block away from your current location,” Oracle stated through his comm.
“On it,” Damian stated. He turned to leave but looked back at his mother, “Thank you.”
Talia only nodded before leaving him, her heels not making a sound as he leaped from rooftop to rooftop.

Ladybug’s leg hung off the Eiffel Tower between the bars, laying on her back she watched what stars she could make out with the monument lit for the night. Her hand absentmindedly rubbed her collarbone, her breathing was long and slow.
She was used to her suit changing little bits as she grew up, almost every few months something new changed. She remembers when Chat and her would freak out about it, making jokes about growing into the suits.
Ladybug rolled her eyes fondly.
Alya would rant for hours about the suit changes and chase her during Akumas just to get photos to show every little change she noticed.
She now sported a short cape garment over her shoulders down to her elbows; black on the outside and red on the inside keeping the famous ladybug colors prominent. When it separated it mimicked the way a ladybug’s wings spread when they would take flight. Tikki had been ecstatic over that; loving how much more her lovely insects were represented than just colors; while Alya had deep-dived into ladybugs and other beetles.
Her suit had inverted from her abdomen to her thighs, it helped to work with her hiding from Akumas in dark places. Her suit had become thicker and adjusted to give her proper traction on her soles and heels.
A quiet thump sounded near her, she stayed where she was at ease knowing who was there. Alya usually went home after patrol so she could be there in case her sisters bargained into her room, they did so often; the littles when they had a nightmare or Nora to ambush Alya. All out of trust and love.
A mischievous smile came into her view blocking the sky. His wild hair whipped in every which direction it could. His mask had slowly grown to look more like a second skin on his cheekbones, temples, and lower forehead.
Ladybug believed it was him growing to keep his identity a secret more over time.
“Why hello m’lady, a fine evening is it not?” Chat grinned, his cat ears twitched making his dangling earrings swing.
Ladybug smiled contently, “It is.”
Chat Noir brought himself down with his legs crossed, Ladybug lifted her head and he scooted forward so her head was on his lap. Chat brushed her bangs back gently, careful not to nick her with his sharp nails. Ladybug let her eyes close, the slight breeze brushed over her face.
“Is something wrong,” Chat asked. Her eyes snapped open, Chat frowned, she blinked a few times before replying with a light nervous laugh, “No, no, of course not.”
He obviously didn’t believe her but decided to let her have this, “While I’d hope not, especially since I found this present on patrol.” Chat said back to his puckish attitude.
“A present,” she restated surprised, she shouldn’t be really.
While he didn’t know when her birthday was he did know it was close to the beginning of May, and that seemed to be enough. The first year he had scrambled to get her a present, it had been a very simple one a keychain with a paw pad. Small and cute, easy to hide, also was so basic he wouldn’t figure out her identity if he saw someone with one.
The previous year he had bought her a paw print plush (he had a theme so far) and a bouquet of yellow roses when he had been much more bent on the just friends train. But he had also bought her four bolts of velvet after she had talked about how much she wanted to use it and experiment with it. Marinette hadn’t touched it for months too scared to make the wrong thing or ruin the expensive material; she hadn’t made anything with it till this last Christmas, and that was only with two of them.
She was almost dreading what he’d gotten her thing year with the drastic change between the two years.
Chat Noir nodded eagerly, he took out a moderately sized bag. Ladybug relaxed a bit as she sat up, seeing that he hadn’t gotten so big this time around.
“You want to take a guess,” He asked as she sat up.
“Not really,” she said offhandly.
“You sure,” he pressed, leaning forward.
Ladybug giggled, “Yes I’m sure chaton.”
His ears flattened as he handed the bag over to her, “Fine.”
Ladybug smiled at the feline hero as she took the bag from him.
She took tissues out tossing them playfully at her partner; he glared at her which only made her smile wider. Ladybug looked in the bag to pull out a yellow bouquet of roses, she looked at him exasperated.
“Didn’t I tell you to stop giving me flowers?”
“And yellow roses mean friendship,” he said pleading, “I double-checked this time, you’re not making me second guess this time.”
Ladybug gave him a “seriously” look before lightly whacking him with the bouquet. He hissed at her making her whack him again.
“Rude,” he squinted at her.
“You’re rude,” she stuck her tongue out at him. She grabbed out a small baggy with two little paw charms on hair ties. She smiled at the simple gift, “I love them.”
She reached back in while Chat beamed. She pulled out two envelopes, one white and one purple. She raised an eyebrow at her partner.
“It doesn’t matter which one you open,” he waved, his voice revealing his nervousness.
Ladybug set the purple one down before opening the white one. She noticed Chat tap his fingers on his knee as he watched her.
She took out the pink page that was written in his neat handwriting.
You didn’t happen to get your mark?
There was a box for yes and no.
Ladybug frowned, she knew her kitty’s birthday was coming later in the year. She swallowed as she looked up at him.
“Chat,” She started. He looked at her, his cat eyes piercing her heart. Full of fear and hope, she knew she was about to break his heart. She swallowed again and opened her mouth but no words came out.
She nodded with tightly sealed lips. She blinked tears away rapidly in a poor attempt to not cry. She watched as he made an inaudible, “Oh.”
He covered his mouth as the tears ran down his face.
She quickly put everything back in the bag and setting it aside she pulled Chat into a hug.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,” She murmured into his hair and rubbing circles on his back.
“I just wanted one of my best friends,” he hiccuped out. “Just a friend was all.”
“I know,” Ladybug gave a squeeze. “I’m sure whoever it is will be your friend first.”
And if they stayed there longer than normal, it wasn’t like Paris would know.

last forever [13/13]
Summary: Zoro only offered to marry you to keep you out of an arranged marriage with a man much older than you. You agreed without realizing how happy you would both become and the family you would create together.
Pairing: Zoro x Fem!reader, mentioned Sanami
Warnings: Mentions of pregnancy and having a baby, that's all
Note: I didn't initially plan this. I was going to stop this fic at twelve chapters, but I felt like ch.12 was getting to be way too long so I broke it up and put the epilogue at the end of thsi one. Do not be surprised if I ever come back to this fanfic universe for one-shots or drabbles. This is shorter than I expected, but I'm happy with how it turned out, thanks for reading this fanfic, I hope you've all enjoyed it! :)
The latter bit is set ten years after chapter 12, Zoro is 31 and Reader is 30.

Your morning is quiet, despite Nami and Robin sharing knowing looks when you and Zoro entered the galley together for breakfast. Nami swears you're glowing and it grosses her out for a moment when she makes the suggestion to Robin who laughs, and says the three of you will need to have a girls night later to talk. No one asked where two had disappeared to the night before, it seemed like none of them had noticed, which you were grateful for. It kept you and Zoro from having to answer any awkward questions for the time being.
Zoro didn't notice or care, if someone had asked he would've told them, but still keep you from feeling embarrassed or anything, this is all still new to both of you of course. Breakfast goes by without anyone bringing anything up, even as Sanji gives you a smile that you return, discreetly showing him your ring and confirming that he was right, everything turned out okay so far.
Most of your day is spent doing the normal things you’ve always done, the Sunny is docked at an island for a restock, you choose to go into town with Robin and Jinbei, Zoro tried to go along but Nami pulls him back, telling you to go ahead while she takes your husband for help with other things. You don’t question it only because that’s completely normal, you don’t even question Robin in town when she tries to convince you to buy a pretty white dress you seem to be staring at. You try it on but don’t buy it, there’s no reason to.
“Are you sure, [Y/N]? It’d look lovely on you, I’m sure Zoro would think so too.”
“Nah, I don’t need it,” you laugh a bit as you go to look at something else that’s caught your eye, “Zoro doesn’t care what I wear anyway.”
“Mm…if you say so.”
You swear there’s something Robin isn’t telling you, even as you both try of different clothes and buy a few items, deciding you’ll bring Nami by later too, there’s plenty here she’ll like.
You do find it odd when Jinbei tries to get you to purchase a flower crown or a small bouquet of your favorite flowers for yourself, denying again that you really don’t need them. You’re not sure if you were imagining it or not, but you think the two share a knowing look with slight smiles as you head back to Sunny a while later.
When you make it back and see almost none of your crewmates around, you start to get suspicious something else is going on, especially seeing the way the ship deck is decorated to almost resemble a wedding, though with its own Straw Hat character, and Zoro waiting for you.
Face red, in a suit (that fits this time), and a bouquet of your favorite flower surrounded by daisies, heliotrope, and aster.
It dons on you immediately what Jinbei and Robin were doing, they were trying to get you ready for an impromptu marriage ceremony, but you didn’t catch on until now, you feel kind of stupid. Of course the white dress and small bouquet make sense now, even though Zoro hasn’t said anything. He doesn’t even notice you’re there at first, not until you say his name and he finally looks at you.
“Hey…you’re back.”
“What,” You’re trying hard not to cry but you can’t fight the smile that’s starting to creep onto your face as Zoro hands the flowers over to you, still nervous about this and maybe embarrassed over it, “What’s this about…?”
He’s quite for a moment, while you look over the flowers, a bright and happy look on your face. You know he’s had help with this, it’s what he and Nami were probably out buying while the others set things up.
“When we got married, legally, it wasn’t really a wedding,” scratching the back of his head, Zoro sighs just a bit before taking your hand and getting on one knee in front of you, returning the smile you’re giving him, “I know I was a stubborn ass about this for a long time, but you already know my thoughts on this, on us now…so I want to give you as real a wedding as I can. One you deserve.”
You have to stop yourself from laughing when it takes Zoro a minute to dig through the pockets he’s not used to find an engagement ring, one you don’t need but you figure Nami made him buy it just so you had one, even with your wedding band already on your hand.
“We’ve already got rings, and this time real witnesses,” you both can hear Luffy not so quietly asking Sanji for food before he's hushed and told to wait, everyone watching from the various places they’re hiding in, “Luffy’s ready to say whatever he needs to for us to be considered married on this crew, but I still have to ask you. So…will you marry me, for real this time, [Y/N]?”
“Of course, Zoro!” It’s not even something you can pretend to think about, not after everything you’ve gone through now. You throw your arms around him and Zoro hugs you close, there’s obvious relief like he was worried you’d changed your mind overnight while he tells you he loves you.
“Heyyy, can we do the ceremony now and eat?!”
“You idiot, she’s got to get dressed first!”
“Sanji made a great cake, it’s really sweet!”
“We were all glad when you went into town with Robin and Jinbei, we probably wouldn’t have gotten this all done if you hadn’t!”
“This is super great for both of you!”
“Yohohoho, I’ll get ready to play the wedding march then!”
“Mosshead, you better treat her right!”
“It’s wonderful to see you both happy now!”
“I may not have the full details of your circumstances, but congratulations to you both!”
You barely listen to your crewmates, your main focus being on Zoro and how this was pulled off so quickly, but you don’t bother to ask any questions, kissing your husband briefly.
“I suppose I should go get ready!”
“Yeah,” Zoro gives you a slight smirk before kissing your forehead, “I’ll be here, wife.”
Robin and Nami rush you off to your shared room to get you dressed, Robin having been sneaky and showing she’d purchased the dress she told you to buy, along with a small bouquet of flowers for you to carry. It’s nothing fancy, but that works perfectly with your relationship and how you’ve come together with Zoro.
Once they’ve got you ready the two go back to the deck to make sure everything and everyone is situated, sending Sanji after you a bit later, he’s agreed to be the one to give you away essentially, though you stop him just ad you’re about to head to the deck, he gives you a concerned look.
“Sanji, do you…do you think Zoro and I will last forever?”
Sanji takes a breath, before smiling and taking your hand as he lets it out.
“I don’t think I’ve ever met a couple more destined to last than you two. Besides, I don’t think the mosshead is willing to wear a suit for just anybody.”
You laugh and agree, telling Sanji you’re ready before he leads you out to the deck.
It’s not a very long or formal ceremony, Luffy stumbles a few times trying to remember what he needs to say, he even gets choked up a few times when he thinks about how he’s seen you and Zoro go from a marriage born of convenience to now being in love and properly married. It almost gets to you as well, but you keep all your tears back, just a few slipping g out when Luffy tells Zoro to hurry up and kiss you which makes you laugh. You know Zoro hates public displays of affection, but he’s willing to look past it for you, only you he’d justify. After that Luffy shouts for the party to start, you and Zoro laughing together just a bit while he holds you close.
“Thanks for not giving up on me, wife.”
“Hmm, thanks for saving me, husband.”
Chopper is right, the cake Sanji made is sweet, you’re surprised Zoro even has some, that he mostly stays away from alcohol except when you bring him a drink later on. It prompts him to pull you to his lap, pressing a kiss to your cheek to make you giggle.
“What’s this for?”
“Nothing,” he sighs a bit, holding you closer and laying his forehead on your shoulder, “Just glad you’re my wife is all.”
“Forever, right?”
“Forever. No matter what happens.”
Nami and Sanji watch you two from the side, giving each other looks that tell more than anything they know you’ll make it. They’ve both watched you ever since they each joined, seen how Zoro treats you and how much you’ve come to love each other. Even when Luffy comes over and drags you away from your real, permanent husband to dance with your captain, the same look Sanji swore to you he’s always seen on Zoro’s face. Soft and loving, he just watches you while you and Luffy giggle together.
When everyone starts to settle down, you’re surprised by Chisa returning to you after being gone since you arrived in Wano. She stops in front of you with two letters, one you know is from Elias and the other from your parents, finally. You’re not sure what to think, even when Zoro wraps his arms around you and sets his chin on your shoulder.
“Well?”
Pursing your lips, you shrug, before tearing up the letter still in the envelope causing Zoro roll tighten his hold on you. For a minute you don’t say anything, before you sigh and lean back against him with a smile.
“It doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t want care about what they have to say…I only care about you.”
“Hmm,” Zoro kisses tour cheek which makes you giggle before you do the same to him, “That’s my wife, I’m proud of you.”
“Love you, Zoro.”
“Yeah…I love you too.”
You two are going to last forever.
+!+
~10 years later~
You have a newborn baby girl to care for now, literally minutes old as she lays next to you and cries, unhappy about her new surroundings. It’s the middle of winter and the only people you’re allowing around her at the moment are the midwives of Shimotsuki Village that had come to help you deliver your baby in the middle of the day. Every one of them praises you for doing so well, but all you care about is your daughter and Zoro getting to see her, to meet her face to face. He’d been more anxious about it as you got closer to your due date, neither of you knowing if you’d have a boy or girl until the moment you gave birth, and now you have her!
She’s perfectly chubby, her little hands trying to grasp at the air while she wails and kicks her feet at the same time, even as you take hold of one of her hands. You want to laugh seeing her hair is just a slightly darker shade of green than Zoro’s, but smile instead as you calm her down.
“Shh, shh, baby girl, everything’s okay. I’m here, sweetheart. Your daddy’s on his way.”
It’s not even five minutes later you hear Nami yelling outside your door about how someone could miss this, while Sanji starts to swoon at her for being so protective of you but asking her to calm down, stress isn’t good for her or their own baby either. You hear Luffy laugh a bit himself, saying something you can’t understand before Usopp and Robin suggest they all leave you alone, as the door to your room opens and you’re so glad to see who’s finally there.
“Zoro~”
“I’m sorry I missed it, I was asking master something,” Zoro takes your hand you reached for him with, kissing your forehead before he sits beside you, looking at your baby with nothing but pride and love on his face, “We…we have a baby…”
“We have a daughter, Zoro.”
“She’s perfect. Just like her mama.”
Rolling your eyes, you just watch for a few minutes while Zoro takes in the fact you have a daughter to raise now. Honestly, you had been expecting to have a boy, and Zoro never told you what he thought you might have, he said it didn’t matter because it was your child, you made this baby together, he’d love them no matter what. But seeing him gently stroke her hair and let her hold onto his finger, you swear you’re falling in love with him all over again.
“Did you ask your master what we talked about?”
Zoro doesn’t hear you at first, he’s too focused on your daughter and watching her settle down, starting to sleep, before he realizes you spoke to him and asks you to repeat your question. When you do so, he nods, looking back to your daughter.
“Well?”
“He said nothing would make him happier…”
Nodding, you sigh in content when Zoro kisses your forehead again, before doing the same to your daughter.
“Welcome to the world, Kuina.”
You plan to give your daughter everything you never had and more, all the love in the world and no expectations to marry rich unless she decides to. Watching Zoro with her the rest of the day makes you realize this was all you ever wanted.
To love someone and be loved the same, and give that love to your own child forever.

HELIOTROPES
Tumblr media
pairing: dottore x fem!reader & segments
summary: the gods were sick and twisted. for five hundred years, he believed he was fated to be alone. he had long accepted it—embraced it, even. that is, until a midwinter night when that elusive red thread finally appeared on his finger. but as much as he wants to ignore it, the pull of a soulmate simply cannot be ignored.
genre: soulmate au, canon compliant for the most part, forbidden love, slow burn.
warnings: fem!reader, age gap, lots of worldbuilding for snezhnaya & the fatui & fontaine, dottore is his own warning, angst and romance, none others that i can think of off the top of my head. each chapter will have its own warnings, it is self-ship coded, and i will take liberty with dottore’s known lore.
status: incomplete. updates sporadic, at least monthly.
taglist: 50/50 (CLOSED. if you would like to be on it, still comment here—i’m going to periodically go through and remove people who don’t interact, and then i’ll add you)
notes: sigh i wanted to give my beluved a little series. this is something i’ll be working on in my free time for fun, so updates will be sporadic, i was gonna post the reincarnation fic butttt that one is a little too dear to my heart ALL SEGMENTS THAT SHOW UP IN THIS SERIES ARE MINE ‼️ i created them, do not take them to use for yourself.

Hello, my fellow cosmonauts!
Here are chapters 1-4 of my almost 39k word Rick/Morty fanfiction! This is my first fanfiction, but I've tried to pay careful attention to detail and expand upon where season 7 left off—as well as incorporate some deeper themes and delve into the psyches of various characters. I have a lot of whacky plans for this fic, and I hope you will read my work!
Summery:
In which the sun shines on Morty's face, and he basks in its radiant splendor.
"Do you still want to be around to witness the heat death of the universe?" Rick asked.
Morty recalled Rick's lifeless body lying limp in his arms, synthetic organs and wiring spilling from his eviscerated gut, blood and oil caking his skin.
"I've seen worse," replied Morty.
Please enjoy!

Heliotrope (Eternal Love, Devotion) || Fyodor
MEANING: “The heliotrope often symbolized devoted and everlasting love, regardless of what the recipient feels or that might hurt the giver.”
A/N: This fic is probably the closest thing I’ll have to Spooktober this year 😅 but who doesn’t love a vampire Fyodor? Also I’m lowkey proud of this ☺️ Reader is gender neutral!
CW: blood (obviously), mention of death
❀ FLOWER SPECIAL MASTERLIST ❀
Tumblr media
It was centuries ago when you first turned.
You were nothing but a lowly peasant, working in the church for food and shelter. It was the only place that would take you in, but sometimes you wondered if God truly meant for this to be your salvation.
You would go to bed with your clothes barely keeping together, stale bread and watery soup on your stomach, but you had a roof over your head and forced yourself to not complain and shiver so much in your thin bed. You weren’t on the street anymore alone, so you should be grateful. Even if the others in the church regarded you as trash, you should still be thankful.
You were close to getting put out on the streets again when you met the stranger.
You kept your head down while cleaning the outside windows, trying your best to keep away from the pastor’s wrath and the lead nun’s glare. The sun was already setting, the mix of orange and red hues disappearing from the sky as it turned to dusk. You were enjoying the view, feeling at peace for once in your life at the sight.
“It truly is a wonderful view, is it not?”
You flinched the sound, accidentally kicking the bucket and spilling the water onto the ground below, bleeding into the stranger’s shoes. You gasped, mortified at your clumsiness. You kneeled down, apologies spilling from your lips, ready to hand scrub the dirt from his shoes when he ushered you up.
“There’s no need for that- you should still be enjoying the view.”
The stranger’s voice sounded melodic in your ears, the accent from his words now registering. You glanced up, taken aback by his eyes.
They were so beautiful- a deep shade of violet that twinkled like jewels. You’ve never seen eyes that color before, honestly you didn’t even know they could be that color before until now. It was so easy to get lost in too-
The nun calling your name broke you out of thoughts, seeing the anger crawling against her face. She must have saw the whole interaction, spewing your name out like a curse. You must have looked like a bumbling idiot getting so sidetracked from your misdoings. You apologized again to the stranger, who once again had no concern over your mistakes.
He spoke to the nun that his shoes were in need of a good washing anyway, which calmed down her rage the slightest (but no doubt you’ll see more of it once he leaves). You didn’t want to part ways with him just yet, not only to keep the nun calm, but because you were now so intrigued by him.
But just like in life, you couldn’t get what you always wanted, the woman bidding him farewells and apologies on your behalf. But as she spoke, the stranger looked solely at you, avoiding her gaze. You didn’t tear away from his stare, even as you were pulled inside.
You went to sleep with those amethyst eyes on your mind. It was one of the first good dreams you’ve had since coming here.
You were back on the streets when you’ve learned his name.
It was raining, the dark clouds sharing your sorrows as you tried to shield yourself from the water drops. The bread you stole tasted better than what was given to you at the church, even when it was soggy. It gave you some substance, even if it still left your stomach growling. How long could you last like this?
It was freezing, the clothes on your back in worse wear than before. You kept your head down as the water drops slowly slid off of your bruised skin when something soft was thrown on you, slightly jumping.
Peeking out from underneath the heavy coat, you were met with the same violet eyes, a quick gasp leaving your lips.
“It’s troublesome to see you in this position. Had that much time passed since our meeting for the church to have fallen on hard times?”
You meekly shook your head no, finding yourself curling underneath his coat. “No sir, the church is still flourishing. I just…I was only causing them headache so it was best for me to leave.”
“I’m not under the impression that it was your choice.”
And he would be right, but you were too full of shame to admit it.
“Tell me- do you wish for a better life? One where the so-called people of God wouldn’t leave you to die on the streets?”
You do, you’ve always wished for it. You’ve wished to live comfortably- you didn’t have to be rich, or live like royalty, but you’ve wanted to live securely. Not where you would have to sleep on cobblestone, scrounging for food any chance you could get.
You wanted to live, and not have someone find your corpse underneath a bridge eventually.
“I do.” You were desperate, and if this was your only chance at fulfilling your desire and not death, you’re taking it.
“Then come with me, and I’ll give a life more than deserving.”
He held his hand out, a slight chill shooting through you when your fingers met his. Even if this did lead to your demise, a small part of you was content that you were able to meet this man once more, being sucked into his gaze once more. It was a sight that you felt like you shouldn’t have seen, dark locks framing his sharp features as the rain slid off his skin. He was beautiful.
Was he an angel sent by God?
“Thank you, Sir.”
“Please, address me as Fyodor.” He pulled you up, gently adjusting his coat on you. The rain had seem to calm down as soon as he appeared, and he led you away and to the start of your new life.
The castle he brought you to was far away from the town and deep into the woods, but God was it magnificent. It was just like you imagined from the stories your mother would tell you.
Fyodor gave you everything- warmth, food, clean clothes, your own room. It was enough to bring tears to your eyes, Fyodor noticed. He gently wiped them away, whispering that there was no need to cry anymore. You declared that you would do anything to pay him back for saving you- and he chuckled, saying that the time to take up your offer would eventually come, but not tonight.
You weren’t sure how soon he meant, until he appeared in your room in the late hours of the night. A pang of fear struck through you quickly, but you forcefully swallowed it down. He kept his word even if it was short lived, and you were grateful enough to get that.
Fyodor called your name, ushering you into his arms.
“Your heart is beating so fast- there’s no need for you to be scared.” He whispered, planting a few kisses along your neck, trailing down. His lips brought a chill down your spine. You should have known that he wasn’t human, even before you saw the sliver of his fangs. You went to push him away as he pinned you down on the sheets below.
“I’m simply giving you the life that you’ve always wanted. A life that you deserve- being by my side is more than fitting.”
The pain was excruciating, tears rolling down your cheeks as you couldn’t even choke out a scream. You could hear him slurping, feeling your own throat becoming wet. Your vision went blurry, and it was a battle to keep your eyes open, that you were greatly losing.
You accepted death without a further fight, going limp.
The next time you opened your eyes, something warm was dripping on your lips, a metallic taste filling your mouth. But it was delicious, and you couldn’t stop yourself from trying to get more, not realizing or even caring that it was coming from Fyodor himself, snatching his wrist and latching onto it for dear life.
You looked like a demon, a savage animal with his blood smeared on the corners of your mouth, panting with a hazy look. No further explanation was needed for what you had become. You were horrified while Fyodor remained stoic, not showing any sympathy for damning you. In his eyes, he kept his word- he gave you a better life, even if it was as a creature of the night.
Time had passed, and your new way of living became your new normal. Seeing blood and draining it from anything with a heartbeat made you squeamish no longer- you never enjoyed it, but it became tolerable. Fyodor trained you, showing you the ways to survive while still treating you as before, gifting you new outfits and the fanciest trinkets. It was like before, except now you were both feasting on blood.
You grew closer to him, feeling a pull in your chest that wouldn’t reside if you weren’t with him. He began having you sleep in his room. Your heart would have been beating at the sight of the large coffin, but gripping your chest reminded you that this was fitting for you both. But soon, you began to look forward to it among other things.
You were attached to Fyodor, not having the possibility of even imagining life with another. He had to have know it too, the lingering touches he would leave to your chilled skin. You were in love with him, and him turning you only acted as twisted sort of wedding vows, with endless promises.
It was only the two of you for years, with you doing whatever he needed or wanted, even if he hadn’t asked for you to do it. He was the only one you had room for in your heart, and continued to treat you ever so gently, like a porcelain doll. If this was eternity, you found yourself to be ecstatic.
Until he brought another person home.
Then another.
And another.
To the point where he was sharing his resting place with others, and not you.
You were obviously heartbroken- were you not enough for him? Had he grown tired of you? Had you done something wrong? It was hard to swallow your worries down, especially when they would trail behind him all the time, him sending you away to bring back food for them.
You couldn’t bite your tongue anymore, crying out in distress when he began to retreat back to his quarters. You were bitter, jealous, and above all hurt.
“I thought- I thought you cared about me.”
“What gave you the impression that I don’t?”
“These strangers that you’ve brought into our home,” you crossed your arms. “Why did you turn them? Why did you bring them here of all places?”
“The same reason that I brought you here- to give them a better life.” He tilted his head, giving you that same stoic look from the night he turned you. “They were suffering as you once were. Why would you would be the only person I saved?”
His words made your heart shatter, tears welling up in your eyes. You should have been the only one here with Fyodor, not with other people that would give him the same glance that you do. It was selfish, but you deserved to at least have something just for yourself for once in your life.
It was childish to cry over it, but it hurt. God, did it hurt.
But Fyodor was there to wipe your tears away, just like he did when you were once human. “There’s no need for your tears, darling. I’ve treated you well for your years with me, have I not?”
You sniffled, nodding your head.
“And that won’t change- you’ve done so well for me, even when you were still mortal. You’ve never crossed me wrong, and I still desire you- but there are others that need to be saved just like you were.”
Fyodor brought you close, cold fingers grasping your chin. “They can be of good use to us- place your trust in me as you’ve always done.”
You found yourself getting sunken into his gaze once more. You were blinded by your feelings, shame turning into reassurance. He was right- Fyodor has never led you astray, so you had no need to doubt his words.
So you didn’t.
Even if he said the same to the others, you were special to him- the only one that meant something to him. He saved you, and gave you a better life than you could dream of.
You’ve coated your hands in blood for Fyodor, both mortal and immortal, but it was all in his name, to assure that he didn’t have to do more than he has already done.
Even when you leapt in front of him, a wooden stake driving through your chest, a solemn smile staining your bloodied lips while the one you loved glanced down, sharing a smile that should have been out of place, you had no regrets.
You simply lived for Fyodor, and you swore to see that your love and devotion would save him from death, even if it lead to your own.
